Mouthblown water vessel set with jug
Mouthblown water vessel set with jug
This set of mouthblown water vessels and jug is inspired by glassware that dates back to the 15th century. In the medieval days, wine goblets were not just vessels for holding liquids; they held ceremonial significance. Goblets were often used in religious rituals, feasts, and important gatherings and some goblets were adorned with applied decorations, such as glass trails or small blobs of glass. These embellishments not only served an aesthetic purpose of looking simply dashing but also provided additional grip when eating greasy foods with your hands.
Brought to life by a father-son glasshouse nestled in the Bohemian forest in the Czech Republic, a region that carries a legacy for its crystal and glassmaking. Each piece is made using time-honored, artisanal techniques that have been around since the 1400’s.
